REVIEW - B. Complete Long-Lasting Nail Polish in 'Sunrise'

Superdrug B.Complete Long-Lasting Nail Polish in 'Sunrise'

Ok, it's time to come clean. I, Emily Slimings, am 100% completely, hopelessly addicted to nail polish. There, I said it.

There is a box in my living room which is literally full to bursting with different shades, finishes, glitters, brushes and brands of nail polish. This box is so full, that when it came time for me to find this particular nail polish to review, I didn't even bother looking in the box because there are so many other bags, boxes and cubby-holes around the house in which I have secretly stashed bottles of nail polish.

It was in the box.

When I went vegan, lots of lovely ladies online recommended I try 'B.' which is a cosmetics brand exclusively sold in Superdrug and, like all of Superdrug's other own-brand products, it's entire line is suitable for vegans. Unlike other 'own brand' products, B. is marketed as a 'higher end' product, and includes an extensive range of clinically tested skincare products which I hear are also very effective.

I actually already had this nail polish in my collection but had forgotten about it (see? I told you. Too many.) In fact, I don't think I'd ever worn it before today.

This shade is called 'Sunrise' and the name is pretty much spot on. These photos don't do the shade justice. It's a warm, burnt orange shade with just a hint of gold and a smidge of sparkle running through it - a perfect autumn nail shade if you ask me. Bit like crunchy leaves.

Application is good - I'm rubbish at painting my nails but this formula has that nice, jelly-like consistency which means it settles nicely on the nail before drying. The above photos are with two coats and no top coat, but if you're in a hurry I reckon you could get away with one coat of this as it's pretty opaque and packed with pigment.

The brush is a little bit too big for my liking. I know some people prefer a large brush and, credit where it's due, it did coat the nail in two swipes. But I'm a messy painter and the wide brush just encouraged the paint on to my fingers so a little tidying up was required afterwards. If you have a longer attention span than me you'll probably be alright though. It dried pretty fast, too.

Superdrug B.Complete Nail Polish Sunrise is a dupe for Ciate Skinny Dip

After I finished painting and stood back to admire my pumpkin nails, I realised this shade is a damn-fine dupe for this Ciate polish in 'Skinny Dip' - Skinny Dip is a touch more shimmery, but there's really not much in it.

So if you're looking for a dupe of Ciate's Skinny Dip, or you're in the market for a damn fine, vegan friendly nail polish, check out the B. (which stands for beautiful) range at your local Superdrug store or online here.
