The Vegan Kind subscription box January 2015 #TVK15

The Vegan Kind subscription box TVK15

The Vegan Kind subscription box is something I really look forward to at the beginning of every month. Usually its delivery is timed to arrive at my house on a Friday - a brilliant treat at the end of the week. This month it arrived on the Friday of the first week back at work after Christmas. Talk about good timing.

I haven't used any of the products in this month's box yet, so this is purely an 'unboxing' post for those curious to see what these little boxes are all about. I also posted about box number 10 back in August with more of an overview about what The Vegan Kind is, so if you want to read that you can have a little click here.

Creative Nature Tropical Treat bar

Creative Nature Tropical Treat Bar (RRP £0.99)

Creative Nature was not a brand I'd heard of before I began my TVK subscription, but I had a berry bar by them in an earlier box and it was delicious. I'm really looking forward to trying this bar - it's cold-pressed to lock in the nutrients from its ingredients which include ginger, pineapple and coconut, all specially chosen for their natural detox properties. I definitely need a spot of detoxing this January so this will be going in my handbag for emergency snack times at work.

Clearspring 100% organic fruit on the go - pear

Clearspring 100% Organic Fruit on the Go - Pear (RRP £0.89)

This is the item I'm most curious about from the whole box. It's basically pureed organic pear in a pouch but there's something so intriguing about it! I don't really like pears because I find they have a gritty texture, so I'll be interested to see if this is the same.

Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps - Sea Salt & Black Pepper

Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps Sea Salt & Black Pepper (RRP £1)

Hectares is another brand I was introduced to by TVK - their piri piri crisps were in an earlier box and were divine. Sweet potatoes are much better for us than white, and tastier too!

Pulsin Raspberry & Goji Raw Choc Brownie

Pulsin Raspberry & Goji Raw Choc Brownie (RRP £1.79)

I actually received a Pulsin bar in TVK10 but it was their choc chip flavour. It was delicious. I'm about to start Fitness Blender's Two Week Weight Loss Programme for busy people (I did their 8-week programme last year and credit that alongside my transition to veganism for my two stone weight loss) and these little protein-packed bars are brilliant for a post-workout pick up. All of Pulsin's bars are vegan friendly, and they also sell a bunch of different vegan protein powders!

Greenfrog soap nuts

Greenfrog Soap Nuts (RRP £3.99)

I love that the Vegan Kind boxes aren't just about food. Grown in the Himalayas, these sustainable soap nuts are easy on the environment and will clean 25 loads of laundry! I need to find some essential oils to chuck in the wash with these as they're unscented, but I'm really looking forward to giving these a try.

Power of... superfoods oat-based cereal

Power of... superfoods oat based cereal

Power of... Superfoods Cereal Pots (RRP £2.29)

Arghhhhh I am so conflicted about this last item. A creamy oat based superfood cereal - good. Strawberry - good. Goji berry - good. Beetroot - SO NOT GOOD. I've mentioned it a couple of times on the blog but for anyone who hadn't already guessed, I HATE BEETROOT. It is only in recent years I have gotten over what was a genuine phobia of the stuff. It's just so unnaturally red and just... bleugh. I'm undecided about whether I'll eat this myself or give it to Andrew yet. Plus there are instructions on the back to eat this cold and I'm just not sure I'm brave enough for cold beetroot porridge.

All in all another great box, and well worth the £10 subscription fee.

If you want to sign up, you can do so here!
