REVIEW - Green People Vita Min Fix 24-Hour Cream

Green People Vita Min Fix 24-Hour Cream Moisturiser

I love skincare, in fact, I may love skincare even more than I love makeup (even nail polish!) But moisturiser... it's not my fave.

Cleansers? Love 'em. Scrubs? Drawer full. Masks? GIVE ME ALL THE MASKS. But when it comes to moisturiser... meh.

Up until now, when I've needed a new day cream, there's just been one in my drawer somehow and I just used it without much thought. But last week, my day cream ran out (Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream - genuinely came into my life because it was free with a magazine subscription) and I had to look for a new one.

It was then that I realised I had NO CLUE what I wanted in a day cream. None. I ended up browsing the internet and putting loads into my basket and then closing the website because I was overwhelmed and bored all at the same time. But when I scraped the last of the Body Shop cream off the lid, I knew it was desperate times, and I needed to order something quickly.

It was then that I spotted this Green People cream on - I knew Green People was a vegan brand, and it had tons of 5 star reviews. I added it to my basket and clicked 'complete order' before I could close the window and continue browsing the Dog's Trust website AGAIN. And a few days later, it landed in my letterbox.

First up - packaging. This comes in a 50ml tube with a pump; an excellent start. The Body Shop cream comes in a tub and, although I only ever apply my day cream to clean skin, there's still something a bit grubby about digging around in the pot. Pumps are much more hygienic and I won't have to worry about this spilling open when I travel. 10 points to Green People.

Next up, ingredients. I cannot believe how many gorgeous, organic, natural ingredients are packed into this face cream. Evening Primrose, avocado, seaweed, Squalane (from olive oil, not from sharks), Jojoba esters, Shea butter, Perilla oil, rosemary, Baicalin... you get the picture. Loads of good stuff. 89.9% of the ingredients in here are certified organic, and a good chunk of them are fair trade too.

Other handy info from the box:

"Green People products are not tested on animals and never contain: Sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, parabens, lanolin, phthalates, propylene glycol, alcohol (ethyl alcohol, ethanol), harsh foaming agents, irritating emulsifiers, synthetic fragrances, PABA-sunscreen, colourants, petrochemicals, urea, DEA, TEA or PEGs."

Oh, and if that wasn't enough to convince you, 10% of the net profit is donated to charity.

Ok, so we've basically established that this is full of good stuff. But what is it actually like to use? The answer is pretty darn good! I use this on a morning on top of a good coat of Hydraluron and my skin stays smooth and moisturised all day, even when it's chilly and windy (which is often) or when I'm sitting with the heating on full blast (also often). It smells beautiful - a really nice, fresh, natural scent. If you like the smell of Sukin products, you'll like this.

Consistency-wise, this is quite thick, so I find a little goes a long way - even better since this tube will last me for ages. It takes a minute to sink in, but it's not sticky or heavy on the skin, and it's a nice base for makeup (I don't use a primer).

I bought this from Feel Unique and it set me back the very strange price of £14.35. Click here to add one to your own basket (resist the puppies, it's worth it.)

I'd definitely buy this again, and not just to spare myself the agony of deciding on a different moisturiser. After reading up on Green People's ethos I'm now on the lookout for other GP products so if you've got any recommendations, please leave them in the comments!
