The Vegan Kind TVK Beauty Box February 2015

The Vegan Kind TVK Beauty Box February 2015

Last month was subscription box heaven in our household. As I've mentioned in a previous post, not only did I receive my regular Vegan Kind box, but I also picked up a Flowbox, a Bark Beats box for the pup and this, the Vegan Kind (TVK) Beauty Box!

This was my first TVK Beauty Box, despite being a long-term subscriber to the standard, monthly Vegan Kind box, but after a while deliberating whether to sign up I thought I'd treat myself to this in February. Here's what was inside...

Fresh Therapies Nourishing Natural Nail Polish Remover Wipes

Fresh Therapies Nourishing Natural Nail Polish Remover Wipes (RRP £7.50)

My nails are never without a coat of polish and, as a result, I get through bottles of nail polish remover and cotton pads like they're going out of style. These nail polish remover wipes were the perfect start to the box for me. I love that you can just pop one in your handbag in case you have a nail disaster on the go, and one wipe is enough to remove polish from all ten nails. As I've mentioned before I tend to have quite dry skin on my hands, so the fact that these are also nourishing to the nails is a great sign. Can't wait to give these a go.

Olivia Soaps and Balms Chocolate and Coconut Body Butter

Olivia Soaps & Balms Chocolate and Coconut Body Butter (RRP £5.00)

I squealed when I opened this - SQUEALED. It smells absolutely incredible, like double cream and chocolate, and the whipped texture of this body butter was doing nothing to stop the urge I had to lick it straight from the pot. (I resisted.)

The texture is whipped like a mousse when you scoop it from the tin, but when you start to apply it to the skin it melts into a luxurious oil and leaves your skin feeling soft and smelling divine. I'm buying this for everyone I know and probably decanting it into little pots so I can have it with me at all times. I literally cannot say enough good things about this. (Smelling it now. Drooling. Applying more.)

Premae Skincare Mild Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub

Premae Skincare Mild Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub (RRP £5.00)

I haven't tried this yet as I switch from abrasive exfoliators to chemical ones during winter when my skin's a bit more sensitive, but it smells nice and the Italian Olive granules which polish the skin seem small enough not to be too 'scrubby' and harsh.

White Rabbit Skincare Comfort Cleansing Balm

White Rabbit Skincare Comfort Cleansing Balm (RRP £7.50)

I absolutely love a cleansing balm but it's difficult to find balms without beeswax in the UK. On my search a few months ago I stumbled upon this White Rabbit balm and added it to my 'to buy' list so I was thrilled to see it in the beauty box.

I'm working my way through a Body Shop balm at the moment so I've yet to try this, but I've got high hopes from a test run on the back of my hand. This White Rabbit balm melts into a thick oil on contact with warm skin, and contains all manner of lovely natural ingredients like rosemary, eucalyptus and lavender, giving it a perfect, dreamy, relaxing scent. I can't wait to take the day off with this!

Hedgerow Herbals Bath Bags Zzz

Hedgerow Herbals Bath Bags in 'Zzz' (RRP £4.50)

The last item in the TVK Beauty Box was these 'Bath Bags' by Hedgerow Herbals. I've never seen anything like them before but they're ingenious! In the box were three biodegradable bath bags filled with lemon balm, lavender petals, chamomile petals and oats - if that's not a recipe for a relaxing bath and a good night's sleep then I don't know what is.

You steep the bag in your bath to infuse the delicate aromatherapy scents - or, for a stronger infusion, brew a bag in a teapot before adding the infused water and bag to your bathwater.

Again I've yet to try these because I have to fight Andrew for the bath, but I'm looking forward to sampling one after a hard day.

Although there are a few products in here I've yet to try, the ones I have are enough to make me continue my subscription. Finding vegan beauty products was one of the things I found most difficult when I first decided to go vegan, so it's great to know that I can use everything in the box without having to scour the label first.

The TVK Beauty Box ships once every three months (February, May, August and November) and costs £15 (+ £3.15 P&P in the UK). To sign up, click here!

Do you subscribe to the TVK Beauty Box? Or do you have your eye on any of these products now (admit it, you're buying that body butter right now aren't you?)
